I'm baaack....with recipes!!

Well hello!  I'm back!!! I know my 4 followers have desperately missed me :)

Well a couple people have asked me for a couple different recipes that I have used recently.  To me this is HILARIOUS, mainly because i don't cook......at all!!!  And when I do cook, people are scared! But, I can follow a recipe like its my job! So here goes, two party favorite recipes.  Of course these were stolen friends :)

The first is a CHICKEN WING DIP. I have taken this dip to many a shin-dig and it is always a hit!! (courtesy of Alice Deckel)

  • 2 pkg of cream cheese
  • 1 can of chicken (I usually get the large can)
  • 3/4 cup of hot sauce (you can use less, its a personal preference but if you use all the hot sauce it is very spicy!)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
Mix it all together and bake at 350 for 30 minutes

The second recipe is Peach Sangria.  This is A-MAZ-ING!!
(courtesy of Nicole Navarro)
  • 1 750ml bottle of white wine (Pinot Grigio works well)
  • 3/4 cup of peach flavored vodka or schnapps
  • 6 tablespoons of  frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 lb peaches and nectarines
  • 3/4 lb of raspberries
  • 3/4 lb of boysenberries or blackberries
Combine wine, liquor, lemonade and sugar.  Stir until the sugar dissolves
Add sliced fruit
Refrigerate at least 12 hours
Serve over ice
You can dilute with 7-up, ginger ale or club soda

Next time I make this I will probably double it, it only makes about 1 bottle of wine-worth. Which was only 2 glasses for 2 people. We poured a whole can of 7-up in our batch and it was perfect!

If you read my blog and try these recipes out, please let me know how they worked out for you!

Buckets O' Fun!!

Last year my Mom decided to used Easter Buckets for the grand-kids instead of baskets so guess who decorated them...yours truly :)
The buckets are actually a great idea!  They are cheap, I got these at Michaels for $1 each and personalized them with my cri-cut.  The kids love them because they have their name on them AND they can be reused for a variety of indoor and outdoor activities instead of a basket that has to be stored and only gets used once a year.

Easter Basket!
Recently I have decided to take it a little further.  Why not use these buckets for gift giving instead of gift bags.
The same idea applies:
  • They are cheaper than gift bags
  •  They can be reused by the kids, essentially part of the gift.

You don't need a Cri-Cut to decorate them either.
Get alphabet stickers from your local craft store if you want to put their name on it or even let your kids decorate them for their friends.
Insert gift and tissue paper and you have a personalized gift that is sure to be a hit with the birthday boy/girl and their parents!

Baking Diaper Cakes

I started making Diaper Cakes approximately 2 years ago when 3 of my dear friends were all pregnant within weeks of each other. This was an attempt to make creative, practical and equal gifts for my mommy-to-be friends.

My first Diaper cakes took me FOREVER, mainly because I had no idea what I was doing!
Also, I rolled each diaper!  OMG!

Here are the 1st 3 diaper cakes I ever made.  These were not cost effective in the least!
I have since streamlined and de-cluttered my cakes, but I still hold these 3 near and dear to my heart as I do the the babies the represent  Kenley, Madelyn and Aiden!

I then began researching on Etsy.  I would look up Diaper Cakes that I liked and try to re-create them.  Luckily I had a lot of baby showers to attend to prefect my craft.  I now use receiving blankets on my cakes which I feel act as a 'frosting' and make the cakes look more finished AND add to the gift!  Here are a few of my favorites!

Now my friend Jamie will be having her first baby and...ITS A BOY!
We are very excited to welcome Baby Maddox to the world.
I am working on his cake this week and will post pics once I have completed it.

Amaya's Play Room

My husband and I are in the process of buying a new house and I am so excited because we will now have a Play-Room for Amaya and ALL her toys!.  Amaya's new room will will be connected to her Play-Room by a jack-n-jill bathroom, just like Brenda and Brandon shared on 90210 :)

I have been gathering ideas of how we can design her play-room to be cute, storage efficient and fun for her.
I LOVE this!!  So cute and girly!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this room especially the dollhouse bookcase.  My next purchase??

Love the storage in this one but worry about my little monkey climbing up this!
Let's see what we come up with for our little Joy :)
